What you should know about Calcium and Osteoporosis
Those with a family history of osteoporosis are at risk for developing the disease later in life. Adequate calcium intake throughout life, along with a healthy diet and regular exercise, builds and maintains good bone health, and may reduce the risk for osteoporosis. While adequate calcium intake is important, daily intakes above 2,000 mg may not provide additional benefits.
